Mr Abbas Rashid is a Consultant Elbow & Shoulder Surgeon practising at St John & St Elizabeth Hospital in St John’s Wood, London where he established the London Elbow Specialists Group, the first private group in the UK dealing exclusively with elbow problems. A graduate of Imperial College London Medical School, Mr Rashid undertook his specialist orthopaedic training in London, going on to complete Fellowships at the Wrightington and Cambridge Upper Limb Units and an AO Trauma Fellowship in Germany. He further honed his skills with visiting surgeon placements at elbow units in the USA (Harvard, The Mayo Clinic and St Michael’s Hospital) and with eight elbow specialists in Europe. He was appointed as a Consultant Elbow & Shoulder Surgeon at University College London Hospital in 2016, where his work includes treatment of complex upper limb trauma and post-traumatic reconstruction, sports injuries and degenerative conditions of the upper limb. He also accepts regional referrals for complex elbow problems. Mr Rashid is actively involved in research and seeks to translate his findings into clinical gains for his patients.
