Bob Grover: Gastroenterologist and hepatologist in Harley Street, London
Bob Grover is an experienced Harley Street-based gastroenterologist and hepatologist with a broad range of expertise. Diagnosing and treating patients with stomach, bowel and liver conditions, he strives to provide a compassionate, high quality, safe and efficient service to all his patients. Dr Bob Grover qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1996 and also obtained a First Class Honours BSc during his medical school training. He also received a highly competitive fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians towards a PhD and was awarded his thesis in 2010.
Training and experience
An accredited colonoscopy trainer, Dr Grover also developed a keen interest in advanced hepatology, undertaking training at the internationally recognised King’s College Hospital Liver Unit. He received specialty accreditation in hepatology during that time.
Dr Grover has a bustling practice at Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with a range of patients with liver and gastroenterological conditions. Running the viral hepatitis treatment service at Hillingdon Hospitals, Dr Grover also teaches gastroscopy and colonoscopy to gastroenterology and colorectal trainees. Dr Grover completes over 700 NHS colonoscopies and gastroscopies per annum to diagnose and treat stomach and bowel conditions.
As well as his practice, Dr Grover lectures to junior doctors and GPs in the areas of hepatology and gastroenterology. He attends a range of meetings to keep well-informed of all cutting edge developments in his field.
Consultation price
The initial consultation price for Dr Grover is £200, with follow up consultations at £150. For private medical insurance (PMI) patients, Dr Grover is "Fee Assured".
Clinical interests
Dr Grover's clinical interests cover the diagnosis and treatment of the full range of conditions affecting the stomach, bowel and liver, including alcoholic liver disease, chronic liver disease and irritable bowel syndrome. He is experienced in caring for people with both acute and chronic conditions, and runs a specialist NHS liver clinic for patients with liver conditions, including hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
Research interests
Actively involved in research Dr Grover has been awarded approaching £500,000 of grants for various research projects to date. Focusing on liver disease, his current research interest is the development of in-patient alcohol services in order to support those patients with alcohol related problems admitted to general hospitals.
