Mohamed “Mo” Imam: Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon in Surrey
Professor Mo Imam is a trauma and orthopaedic specialist surgeon situated at the New Victoria Hospital in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey. He is an exceptionally skilled consultant orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in upper limb surgery, sports injuries, and complex trauma. His treatments for the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand include arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery, stem cell applications and joint replacements.
Training and experience
Professor Mo Imam holds multiple degrees, including a master’s degree in orthopaedics with distinction and a PhD in musculoskeletal sciences. His thesis was centred around the healing of rotator cuff tears and how to optimise the repairing process. From there, he completed a range of specialist and exclusive fellowships throughout Europe and the United States. These fellowships covered the latest techniques and technologies when it comes to treating upper limb trauma, such as the latest 3D scanning, bespoke treatments, minimally invasive surgery and more. He is now a professor at the University of East London, where he conducts pioneering research about artificial intelligence and machine learning within clinical applications. Mo Imam has multiple prestigious accolades to his name due to his extraordinary work in the field, these awards include the ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports medicine) Upper Extremity Award and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons international scholar Award.
