I just wanted to say what excellent treatment my daughter (5yo) received at springfield hospital. From start to finish she was made to feel at ease, she had a full explanation in a way that she understood about what was going to happen from the doctor, anesthetist and the nurses. The care received in particular from Nurse Ros and Nurse Nicole was fantastic. thank you for making our stay as pleasant as it could be.

My stepson wanted to have his ears pinned back so we called the hospital to enquire and make an appointment with the hospital. The initial call and every other call subsequently made had at least a five minute wait after going through the options . We made an appointment to see the specialist and went a week later, after explaining what we wanted he quickly advised to his credit that he wasn't the man for the job.



What a waste of time ,we went to reception and put forward our frustrations and made another appointment with a consultant that could do the procedure. Being very busy and working to a tight schedule to avoid emotional impact of the surgery for a youngster we wanted this at a particular time so that he could recuperate and have bandages over the Christmas period. We explained this to the surgeons secretary who duly booked a date in advance .



After seeing the surgeon who explained the procedure we was told that the hospital would contact us in the week leading uptown surgery. After no contact 4 days before surgery was due we started calling them and was told that it can't take place as they can't provide a paediatric nurse on that day. The surgeons secretary said that the operation could be done at Rivers on the next day, great but we have an engagement that has cost many thousands far in excess of the cost of the procedure. She went on to say that this is not the first time that this type of thing as happened and this other hospital as got them out of a spot on several occasions. As you can imagine a very unhappy experience with this hospital , I have to say that if I ran my business like this I would off gone under years ago.



Anyway 4 days to go , and can't find a nurse and already given in. I am sure that you could get an agency nurse with 4 days notice. From my experience I would recommend trying other hospitals .

I found the experience far less daunting than I had feared because of the calm professionalism of all the Staff I encountered. I was extremely well cared for in an attractive environment. Throughout my stay I was kept well informed about my treatment and the outcomes.

I liked the privacy of my own room and I was able to watch birds on feeders in the attractive garden outside my window.

I was also impressed with the professionalism of the physiotherapy staff who started work on the first day of my operation and continued to monitor my progress throughout my stay and beyond.

I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment.

I was referred by my GP and having seen consultant under NHS then went private via my medical insurance and all pre and post operative and in patient treatment carried out at Springfield Hospital.

At all times before my Op, whilst in hospital for 2 days, and post operative care to date, i couldn't have asked for better quality care at any time. Staff from receptionist to porters to nurses and doctors communicated well and showed great empathy at all times to ensure my treatment and stay was a good experience. All appointments maintained, and all post operative care organised promptly. It is how all medical care should be.

I'm a 76 year old , and still enjoy driving but my foggy vision was something that needed attention, even watching a TV programme was not ideal. I was treated by Mr Samen Hindi and his team who were recommended by a family friend that had the same treatment. I think that the results that I'm enjoying are by far the most moving , apart from the birth of our first child, the TV picture is crystal clear now, sharp and very colourful, and I can drive at night once more. I was recently in Springfield hospital to have an operation on my nose to correct function and appearance. It was my 1st time of going private. I am so glad I did! I cannot fault the hospital or staff in any way. I'm a 39 year old male who has wanted this op for 20 years. I finally took the plunge! It's a month on from the op. Already I'm over the moon with my breathing and looks so much better!

I was very apprehensive about having the operation,but the staff at the hospital made me feel so comfortable and at ease. The nurses were amazing! My surgeons Mr Tare and Mr Mekheswa were excellent! I'm very impressed with the follow up appointments to check healing and progress which I am not charged for. The facilities were excellent,I had my own room and bathroom,a food menu with great meals! Thanks again to the nurses at the hospital,you were brilliant!

I have recently had a knee replacement operation followed by physiotherapy and have to say once again the treatment and follow up has been outstanding. I previously had the same operation in Springfield on my other knee three years ago. I have always been impressed with the care and facilities at Springfield. The staff at all levels are very good. The follow up in the Physiotherapy department was excellent and I was under the care of Claire who provided a specific exercise programme for me for the period post operation..

My experience of Springfield Hospital has been exceptional, everyone I have had contact with be it clerical, catering, medical, has been friendly, professional and made my treatment a real pleasure.
My Plastic Surgeon Professor Frame is absolutely wonderful, I am so pleased my operation was performed by him, and I am more than delighted with the result, it has changed my life.
All medical staff are highly knowledgable and reassured me throughout answering any questions I had clearly.
For anyone considering Breast Augmentation/surgery/medical treatment I recommend Springfield Hospital without hesitation.

My Husband recommended I try Springfield Hospital Physio for a lower back problem that had been getting worse and was affecting my mobility.

After hitting rock bottom with my back and not being able to see light at the end of the tunnel I went and saw Louise, I have never met such a lovely kind hearted and supportive person and for once I wasn’t made to feel as though there was no solution or that it was my problem.

I have been seeing Louise for two months and delighted to say there is light at the end of the tunnel, she has given me my confidence and spark back, I am back swimming and cycling, losing the weight I had piled on and now with no pain! I don’t get out of bed wincing in pain, can tie my shoe laces without being in agony and am enjoying life again pain free.

I cannot recommend Louise or the team at Springfield highly enough, I know if my back goes again I can just go back to them and get the help I need, and not struggle like I have for the last 11 years.

The ward was pleasant but beds were of poor standard causing discomfort. Evening staff were often rude when asked for food and pain relief following surgery. (This surgery is VERY uncomfortable in the first 24 hours) Drug allergy, although discussed by surgeon, nurse and anaesthetist was not detailed on patient wristband prior to surgery. Following day staff lacked knowledge to answer questions. Pain relief was not given prior to nasal plug removal. Bleeding utilised all towels and constant requests had to be made to replace to enable showering. Felt like a "nuisance" to nursing staff every time I needed something. I would have thought food and pain relief would have been offered before I felt obliged to ask.

We turned up for the 2nd appointment, at 0750 hours and at 0920 hours, we are still waiting for the staff to turn up to carry out the scan!

Staff illness was the reason for the wait, however, we were told at 0825 hours that someone was on the way from Colchester, a 20 minute drive, but 1 hour later, we are still waiting....

So. I booked a morning off work for the 1st appointment, and another morning off work for the 2nd appointment and I have the pleasure for paying for the MRI scan.

I had some complications with chronic back as well as the knee pain and the surgeon and anaesthetist were very helpful and innovative in finding solutions. All nursing, physio and support staff were good to outstanding too. I especially liked the way that the staff were so supportive to each other in their work - regardless of their rank or role. There was a great team spirit in the hospital. This all increased my confidence and made for calm and relaxed procedure. Thank you.

It seemed an impossible task to me. However Claire took all of these factors into consideration and tailored the physio to my particular needs making everything achievable. 6 weeks later it all looks very different and I am able to carry on the exercises at home.

I underwent physio with Louise for approx 16 sessions. During this time I had a combination of laser, ultrasound, acupuncture, massage and exercises.
Louise's care was excellent. She listened to me at every appointment and changed my treatment to suit my symptoms.
I cannot speak highly of the service I received. As a member of staff at this hospital I was nervous about receiving treatment here but I was treated like i would hope any other patient would be with respect and dignity.
I cannot thank Louise for the treatment I received as it was a long period but she never made me feel I was causing a problem.

My 6 year old son had problems and after battling with my gp for 18 months we decided to go private with BUPA and saw a consultant Mr McAllister, within a week of making an appointment. He was friendly and put my son at ease despite having to examine him. An operation was scheduled for a few weeks later. We had a pre-op appointment whereby again the nurse had excellent bedside skills, was warm and friendly and took time to explain to my son everything that would happen without scaring him. She showed us the ward and one of the rooms and the area where the theatre was.
On the day of the operation we were promptly greeted and shown our private ensuite room with twin beds for parent and child incase an overnight stay was neede. the room was bright clean and had everything we needed including a phone and tv.
Gill Noble was our assigned nurse for the day and was exceptional. She popped in frequently to keep us updated of theatre times, got us a cup of tea, came quickly when my son needed pain relief and so forth. She even presented my son with a special brave boy certificate after the operation.
I cannot fault the services i received from all the members of staff we saw. the hospital is easily located, clean, comfortable and makes you feel relaxed. the staff are very friendly and easily accomodate all your needs. Would definitely return if the need arises. This was the best possible example of a stay in hospital for my 6 year old son. well done

This was a new experience for me having been referred by my GP regarding long term stomach/bowel problems. The hardest part of the whole affair was the enforced fasting/restricted diet/laxative treatment for the 3 days prior to the exam.
The actual examination was very simple and the lovely nurses made a potentially embarrassing and uncomfortable procedure very easy to cope with. There was some discomfort from the air being pumped into my colon but no more than the stomach cramps I regularly endure anyway. A few strange sensations as the dye and Buscopan were injected but it was over so quickly.
Having endured the 'old style' colonoscopy I can thoroughly recommend this approach!!

Everybody was professional yet friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble.
I was only expected to be a 'day case' but ended up needing to say the night due to more invasive surgery than planned, was settled into a 'inpatient' room as soon as possible with no problems.
So a huge thank you to everone involved in my care, especially HCSW Victoria Smith, you were fantastic!

I found all the nurses and staff at Springfield Hospital to be friendly and courteous during my short stay at the hospital. I felt I had the very best of aftercare regarding advice and guidance which helped me through to full recovery after a prolonged period of six weeks off work. The success of this operation means I can lead a normal life again without the aggravating limp and annoying pain that was forever constant prior to the operation. I am writing this review on behalf of my wife Lisa Ann Bewick who sadly past away at Farleigh Hospice Broomfield on the 1st January 2012 after a long fight with cancer. Lisa was diagnosed with Breast cancer in October 2007 and has received excellent treatment at Springfield Hospital throughout, from all members of staff.
Lisa was admitted to Springfield Hospital on 30th November 2011 to have fluid removed from her lungs. Her condition at the time was touch and go, but the team at Springfield work tirelessly, and we were married at the hospital on the 6th December 2011. They pulled out all the stops to make this possible and for that we thank them from the bottom of our hearts. We wish to also thank all members of staff for their professionalism at all times. I stayed at her side throughout her illness and I wish to once again thank all at Springfield Hospital and also all the members of staff at Farleigh Hospice that gave us precious time together. Our Family would also like to thank all the members of staff, as well as our friends, especially Cliff Harvey.

Dear Mandy, Jude, Linda and Liz, I am struggling to find words to say how very grateful I am not only for your very professional care  but also for your kindness, patience and friendship. But I am most grateful for you being with me through the months of chemo. At the beginning, 6 months seemed forever and I simply couldn t imagine it being over. Now it is over and I have many special memories about things that have helped me during the last 6 months that will stay with me for a long time. For example....... * Advice about shaving my head when my hair started falling out. This helped me feel that I could take control of at least a small part of what was happening to me. * Advice about putting my  second stick (the one that I was beating myself with over my job) away in a cupboard. This helped me to really let go of work and stop losing sleep over my inability to micromanage what was happening in my absence. * Always explaining what was being done during each stage of chemo every Wednesday. This may seem unimportant but, when I was feeling weak and useless and a burden to everybody, I experienced respect. * For looking for squirrels and pigeons in the surrounding gardens with us each week as we looked out of the window. And for always being so cheerful and willing to listen and be genuinely interested in both my husband (and his decking project!) and me. And many more.... I will miss you and my Tuesday and Wednesday visits, the best days in each week in the last 6 months, and these will now seem to be missing something important. I am facing the next lot of experiences with trepidation in no small part because you will not be there too. Thank you for your time, respect, patience and kindness. On the 14th September 2010 I attended Springfield hospital for a Cataract operation undertaken by Mr Ghazi-Nouri and his Team. For some months, years even, I have been looking at the world through a mist/ curtain. Holding down a full time job and all that that entails has been challenging not to mention day to day activities. Thanks to Mr Ghazi-Nouri s skill and professionalism, I now have better sight in my right eye than when I had Laser surgery some 3 years ago. From my arrival at Springfield, all were extremely kind and caring including the Surgeon, nursing staff (nurses, theatre and auxiliary). In particular, theatre nurse Jackie kindly held my hand during the initial part of the operation, a sign of a truly kind and caring person. I do not know yet if I will need my left eye operated on but I would be pleased to return to the hospital if that were indeed the case.
