Having spent over 2 years trying, and failing, to get obesity surgery on the nhs, I then investigated private surgery. This company were excellent. I had a long talk with them about which surgery would best suit me and what would be involved. I decided on the Gastric Bypass and had it carried out in Sheffield. Surgery went very well, I only had to stay in for two nights. Bit of a painful journey home on the train but manageable. Definately need someone with you to help you out. I have lost over 6 stone since my surgery in May 2009 and am now down to a size 12. The follow up service has been excellent, regular phone calls and catch ups to make sure everything is fine. Happy to recommend the Weight Loss Surgery Group, I have found the whole experience to be truly magical.

After over a year of researching the different options open to someone of such a young age (21 at the time)..i opted for a Gastric Bypass. WLS were so supportive of my choice and offered all the help, information and support i needed in reaching my desicion. When my surgery date came through i was so excited, scared too but mostly happy that i was about to look like the girls off the tv. My surgery was in Brugge which is the only thing that i would change if i could, your stay away from home, friends and family is hard. to have been closer to home and not have to get on a flight would have been excellent. Although, dont get me wrong, the hospital, staff and surgeon were fab. I have dropped from 15.7 stone to 9.4 from July 2008 to January 2009. my life has changed to much and im so happy with the results, im now just about to become a mum so my weight loss in on hold for another 5 months. Now a very Happy size 10!...(with bump)..
