Founded in 1981, The Alexandra Hospital has built an international reputation for delivering safe and effective outcomes in a variety of treatments, from complex cardiac procedures to minor surgeries. Today, over 500 consultants practice at the hospital, many of whom are leaders in their fields and hold teaching roles, attracting patients from around the globe.
With 128 beds, all rooms are thoughtfully designed for comfort and privacy, featuring en-suite facilities, satellite TV, and a telephone.
The hospital continuously invests in its facilities, with recent upgrades including a new 1.5T MRI scanner for faster scan times, a full refurbishment of Chester Ward, a state-of-the-art hybrid cardiac theatre, the expansion of ITU beds to seven to accommodate more complex surgeries and advanced equipment for the hospital's seven operating theatres.
In addition, The Alexandra Hospital provides enhanced care with Level 3 Intensive Care and Level 2 High Dependency Care, which surpasses the standards of most private hospitals. A resident medical officer (RMO) is available 24/7 to ensure the safety and well-being of all patients. If a patient's condition changes following surgery or treatment, a transfer to another hospital, either NHS or Circle Health Group, may be required, however transfers are only made when absolutely necessary.
Facilities also include free onsite parking (with disabled spaces), a restaurant, and a pharmacy for added convenience
The Alexandra Hospital is equipped with cutting-edge robotic technology, enabling consultants to perform complex procedures across multiple specialties, including women’s health, joint care and cancer treatment. This technology combines expert consultant skills with unmatched precision, ensuring optimal surgical outcomes and faster recovery times.
The use of advanced robotics, such as the da Vinci Surgical System, Stealth Navigation system, and 3D mitral valve surgery, allows for minimally invasive surgery. This means smaller incisions, reduced tissue and nerve damage, lower risks of scarring or complications and quicker recovery, allowing patients to return home sooner.
The Alexandra Hospital welcomes both self-paying and medical health insured patients for treatment. All major credit cards are accepted. Chrysalis Finance is available to help patients spread the cost of treatment.
