Doctor referred me for treatment, selected Fulwood Hall as I have been treated before at this Hospital. From the consultation to being admitted was only 4 weeks, The staff were very helpful professional and polite. I went in at 7.30 am and was going home at 1.00 pm with a hernia repair. No problems whatsoever, i would thoroughly recommend this Hospital.

As a very nervous patient I was looked after especially on the day of my operation from room to theatre by a gentleman called Peter. He was an absolute rock and without his steady reassurance I would quite likely have not gone through with the surgery. He answered all my questions and was totally caring. I don’t know his full name but he worked alongside the surgeon, Mr. Golash and anaesthetist Dr. Letherton. I cannot thank him and all the staff for the excellent care.

Excellent quality treatment by Mr Austin his surgical team. Everything was fu?ly explained to me. Everyone was most kind and understanding. I had been in pain for 3 months & it's been a great relief to have had a successful outcome. The nursing staff on the ward were 1st class. Also food was great, a nice selection & well presented. I am extremely grateful to all concerned. Thank you.

As a private patient I was quoted for 2 nights and stayed 2.



Food, attention etc. was very good.



One very small moan is that the information pack said toiletries were provided, but when I arrived there were none. Management had decided to replace them with an orchid that you could take home. A strange decision!

Prompt service, calm, pleasant surroundings and for me personally more than anything else put at ease throughout the whole process. All in all I could not fault from start to finish. Thank you. The doctor explained everything perfectly throughout the whole procedure. Excellent...and the nurse chatted to help me through.

Pre and post-surgery in the hospital, I was able to enjoy free Wi-Fi and watch TV. Many excellent staff, and quality nursing. I was first on the surgical list, so there was a little bit of rushing with the Physio, but that was later amended.

The Anaesthetist was an absolute gentleman and coped well with my attempts to discuss work whilst falling asleep - also the best canulation I've ever had, I barely felt it.

The only blemish was a grumpy nurse that made a few snide comments towards me, post surgery. It wasn't anything especially unpleasant but it was at a vulnerable time when I had just woken from surgery, and it left a harsh stain on an otherwise perfect canvas.

Otherwise, the food was lovely, the level of care was brilliant and one day post surgery, I'm more mobile than I've been for months!

The surgeon explained what had been done in detail and if I require further treatment or any care then I hope to have the same staff again as they really worked hard to ensure my time was as comfortable as possible.

Apart from that one rather unnecessary bit of grief, the food is great, the level of care has been excellent and I've almost figured how to walk with crutches.

Otherwise, though, very happy!

Following 12 months on a hospital waiting list for lower spine surgery, I decided to "go private". By that time I had almost lost the use of my legs due to nerve restriction and damage. Probably the best decision I have ever made. A guaranteed price that was surprisingly affordable. My surgery was arranged within days of seeing the surgeon, and the surgeon, nursing staff, doctors, physiotherapists, carers and chef were all incredibly friendly and helpful. I came full of nerves and anxiety, but left having had an amazingly nerve-free and even relaxing experience - both stress and pain free! The results to date have been very positive, and the surgeon even gave me some treatment options based on the very latest research to help minimise the level of invasive surgery. I could not be more happy, nor could I recommend Fulwood Hall Hospital more highly to anyone who is considering going there.

It was 2 days before the start of school and my 4 year old was treated like a star. Fran the nurse was fantastic at talking his language 'ear mud', gas masks are like Octonauts wear outside the Gup, blood pressure tests were just checking for muscles, and she explained brilliantly to him at his level and to me at mine what was going to happen. I cant rate Fran high enough. The consultant, anaesthetist were brilliant. He's just concerned when they will get out of their PJs!!!

My father was referred for a lumbar x-ray as part of a fuller diagnosis for cancer. He paid for the x-ray in full but after a week the results were still not back at the GP. Discovered that the radiologist hadn't 'popped in' to review them - when pressed it appears that they don't have a full-time radiologist and the person doing it was doing on top of their existing role (within the NHS perhaps)?

Regardless of this, my father paid for the x-ray rather than waiting weeks on the NHS.

I was very impressed with the level of medical and nursing care I received during my stay at Fulwood hospital. I underwent surgery on my neck from Mr Golash, he was recommended to me by my physiotherapist and I have been very pleased with the result.
The nursing team were excellent, and a special mention for Sean the chef........fantastic.

From my first consultant to the day I was released from hospital I felt in safe hands. I was given explanations and information about each stage of my treatment and all the staff were attentive, friendly and professional. I had surgery and stayed overnight before being released the following morning. During my stay every staff member who was involved in my care introduced themselves and explained how they were involved with my care. I felt relaxed going into surgery and although I had a few problems in the recovery room I can remember being talked to gently to help relax me, so I know I was looked after at a difficult time. I was given plenty of information before being released and I have made a good recovery. Overall, if you need medical treatment, this is the hospital to go to!

I am really amazed with the communication and treatment received from Mr Ben Shaw and his team. My stay in the hospital was as if I was at home that’s how much care I received from the friendly nurses. As this was my first operation I was very nervous but when talking to the physio team and nurses they made me feel relaxed and calm helped me with the aftermath and got me through the knee operation by far I have to say Fulwood hospital is a hospital which I would recommend to everyone. Once again I would want to thank DR Shaw and his team for the lovely treatment I received and know my 7 kids are looking after me.

I have yet to have surgery but already I am impressed with the consultations I have had with Mr Khatri. With being profoundly deaf I find communicating difficult at times but Mr Khatri straight away put me at ease, making me feel welcome and made sure that I understood him fully by writing everything down and showing me diagrams and answered all the questions I asked in detail which I like to have. I will be giving an update once my spinal fusion surgery has been done.

Even though the operation didn't find a tumour, my care in the hospital was excellent (3 nights). Must commend Acting Sister Lucy and staff nurse Mandy for some clear details given to me, but the entire nursing team I had were excellent. Alex was very patient and thorough. Chefs Sean & James made the effort as I had to do 48 hours on my back! I have had ops in a number of private hospitals, all excellent, but must say Fulwood has the edge.
