BMI hospital celebrates a platinum double

Staff at a Banbury private hospital catering department enjoyed the taste of success when they were presented with their second Platinum Award in Cherwell District Council’s Score on the Doors food safety scheme.

The scheme, which is run throughout the UK, recognises excellence in hygiene and food safety in thousands of eating outlets including pubs, cafes and restaurants.

The catering department at BMI Foscote Hospital, in Foscote Rise, Banbury, received top marks for the second time when it was inspected recently.

Catering manager Carol Coles said: “It is a great honour to win the Platinum Award for the second time – you can’t get any higher than that and it is a great reflection of all the staff in the catering department.

“We all work very hard to ensure our patients receive the very best and awards like this recognise the effort that is put in by everyone,” said Carol.

“I would like to thank second chef Rachel Pratley, catering assistants Graham Allen and Liz Farman and kitchen assistant Karen Lake. They are a great team and should be proud of the work they have done to earn this award.”
