UroLift is considered as the most recent innovation for treating men with urinary symptoms. It is a minimally invasive procedure that can be performed as a day case. It involves the introduction of tiny implants that are deployed through the urethra. These implants help to keep the prostate gland wide open by bringing its inner and outer surfaces together and thus improving the flow. For an average-sized prostate, between 2-4 implants can be deployed.

Specialists at the Cobham Clinic describe the state-of-the-art treatment as "an excellent treatment option for men with bothersome urinary symptoms who have failed medical treatment or those who are not willing to take medicines due to troublesome side effects."

UroLift provides the unique advantage of significantly improving the urinary symptoms with minimal side effects. More importantly unlike traditional surgical methods for treating prostatic symptoms, UroLift has no impact on sexual and ejaculatory function. The UroLift procedure is now available at the Luton and Dunstable and the Cobham clinic.
