Jade Goody's cancer has reached stage three. Goody, who was diagnosed with cancer during filming iin India, learnt that the cancer has now spread.

Doctors found cancer cells affecting Jade Goody's body outside her womb. She is now set to have eight-hour cancer operation on Saturday.

Cancer surgeons found cancerous cells in a ligament behind Goody's uterus, which means the disease has reached "stage three" - a term to describe cases where the cancer has spread beyond the initial area, in this case the cervical area.

A close friend said: "The hysterectomy was successful but they found the cancer had spread. They had thought it was at stage two and contained in the womb. But it is worse than that."

She now faces a nine-week programme of chemotherapy and radiotherapy at London's Royal Marsden hospital.

Jade was in India for the television reality show Bigg Boss, but had to leave the show half-way on health grounds
