A Manchester dental practice has fought off stiff competition from 450 others to be named The Best Private Dental Practice of the Year at the Private Dentistry Awards.
Manchester’s Kissdental practice fought off exclusive Harley Street clinics and Central London smile boutiques to win the Private Dental Practice of the Year award.
Held at Café Royal in London, the awards attracted top dental practices throughout the UK - all boasting the very best in patient care, cosmetic dentistry and technology.
Kissdental applauded throughout awards
During the award Ceremony it became clear that Kissdental stood out from the crowd, being awarded highly-commended awards in the category for best patient care, best marketing, best employer and also winning the award for the most improved dental practice.
Ending the night with a bang Kissdental was crowned with the most prestigious and sought after award in private dentistry – The Best UK Practice of the Year!
Judges’ unanimous decision
The decision was unanimous all judges agreed. One judge commented: “When making the decision of which dental practice to choose for practice of the year one practice stood out and it was clear to all of us that Kissdental was a clear winner – being a very ethical practice with a focus on patient care, high standards of hygiene, latest technology and services, excellent staff management and a well-structured marketing campaign. No practice in the UK comes close the complete package that Kissdental offers and they set a standard that private dental practices in the UK should aspire to achieve.”
A first for the North
Historically, the private dentistry awards have been won by dental practices in London and exclusive Harley street clinics, making this is the first time that a clinic from the North of England has won this award.
Kissdental has put Manchester on the map for offering an unparalleled level of dentistry so that people no longer need to travel to London for world-class treatment.
Opened only two years ago by two brothers from Leigh, Kissdental’s success is all thanks to the founder’s doctor-turned-markketing-guru brother, Prav Solanki.
The 28 year-old insisted that Kailesh, 27, offers a choice of three waiting rooms (with various levels of formality), plus a beauty suite offering calming aromatherapy sessions!
DVD library
There is also an extensive DVD library for nervous patients wishing to use special audio visual goggles during their treatment, video testimonials and step-by-step guides explaining all treatments – all part of the unique nervous patient programme.
Prav said: “The most important aspect of Kissdental is that patients never feel like a number, but a valued member of the practice family. On the rare occasion that we exceed the patient maximum waiting time of 20 minutes, we try to make amends by presenting them with a voucher for the Trafford Centre as we believe that a patient’s time is just as valuable as ours.
Free car valet
“This high regard extends to the staff, with the practice website paying significant credit to their skills and being encouraged to regard the practice as not a place of work, but a second home. Then there’s the regular meals and trips out to the likes of theme parks and health spas!
“Staff also enjoy the regular services of a visiting car valet company, which we also use to valet patient’s cars during their treatment – a special surprise which always goes down well!” added Prav.
He didn’t realise his true vocation as a dental marketing consultant until he had qualified as a doctor, began a PHD in pharmacology and then attended business school.
“It was my business studies that made me realise that I wanted to market dentistry and work for myself – not for someone else,” said the Oxford businessman.
“Since my brother was setting up his dental practice at the same time as I was launching my marketing career, we agreed to make Kissdental my flagship business.”
Fresh approach
Only two years later, Prav’s marketing company – The Fresh - manages the public relations needs of over 20 dental practices throughout the country, in conjunction with a publicity consultant who ensures extensive coverage across a broad range of media.
Prav concluded: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the Best Practice award – it is a reflection of all the hard work we have put in as a team and we strive to improve every year.
