Women of a certain age are more likely to undergo a cosmetic surgery procedure, figures from the Wroclaw-based Euromedica Cosmetic Surgery have revealed.
The cosmetic surgery clinic enables prospective patients to travel to overseas facilities for a pre-op fact-finding visit.
In the last year it found that the proportion of patients over the age of 50 was 60 per cent, which is a 30 per cent rise on 2007.
The most popular procedures that the cosmetic surgery procedure carried out were tummy tucks and facelifts.
Alina Deeble, founder of Euromedica Cosmetic Surgery, commented: "Older women have many reasons for wanting to look younger and are prepared to spend cash they have been putting aside to get the face and the body they want.
"The number of cosmetic procedures for our 45-65 age group has doubled in the last 12 months, and I think it is a trend that is set to continue."
According to an iVillage poll, 25 per cent of women in the US said that they have considered having cosmetic surgery.
