Ramsay Health Care wins award for innovation

Ramsay Health Care has won the Innovation in Health Care award in the prestigious Laing & Buisson Independent Healthcare Award 2012 for their Sterile Services Hubs. The Innovation category recognises and rewards significant cutting-edge advancements in the independent healthcare sector.

Ramsay Eastern and North West Sterile Services Hubs were recognised for the use of the "Meditrax" tracking and tracing system which has significantly contributed towards the efficiency and reliability of instrument management within 2 multi site services. Meditrax provides the ability to electronically track and trace medical devices within the surgical/decontamination setting and gives reassurance to both service providers and patients.

The Eastern Region Decontamination Hub currently serves Oaks Hospital, Colchester; Springfield Hospital, Chelmsford; Rivers Hospital, Sawbridgeworth and Pinehill Hospital, Hitchin. The Northern Region Decontamination Hub currently serves Fulwood Hall Hospital, Preston Euxton Hall Hospital, Chorley, Oaklands Hospital, Salford and Renacres Hospital, Ormskirk. Meditrax had recently been rolled out across the rest of Ramsay’s hospitals.

The award was presented to Ramsay Health Care during a gala dinner at the London Marriott Hotel on 18 September 2012.
