Jamie Griffiths: Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon in Basingstoke
Mr Jamie Griffiths is a highly regarded consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon who practices privately at locations around Basingstoke, Hampshire. He provides a comprehensive range of services for patients suffering from a range of conditions. Treatments provided include hip replacements, revision hip replacements, soft tissue reconstruction around the hip, pelvic and lower limb metastatic tumour reconstruction, knee replacements, revision knee replacements, knee arthroscopy and hip and knee injection therapy.
Training and experience
In 2014, Mr Jamie Griffiths trained internationally, completing a one-year lower limb arthroplasty and lower limb adult reconstruction fellowship in Perth Australia. It was during this time he gained significant experience in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery in conjunction with complex adult lower limb reconstructive surgery, following primary and metastatic bone tumour excision. He has also completed a trauma fellowship in Denver, Colorado USA at a level 1 trauma centre, gaining significant experience in complex trauma including pelvic and acetabular trauma.
Following the completion of his training, Mr Griffiths was appointed as the specialist hip fellow at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital, and was appointed as a substantive trauma and orthopaedic consultant at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Research interests
Mr Griffiths is keenly involved in the training of junior doctors and orthopaedic registrars. He has presented his work at a number of national and international meetings as well as lectured at the University of Western Australia.
He is also heavily involved in many UK-based studies and research groups pertaining to hip treatments. This includes the involvement in national and regional networks for complex hip replacement and revision surgery, serving as principle lead investigator in two NHS studies assessing the performance of implants entering the UK market, as well as serving as clinical lead for the hip fellow at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
