Clinics during Coronavirus outbreak
During this worrying time, clinics are still being held and Dr Faircloth is also happy to undertake telephone consultations for insured and self funding patients. He is, of course, trying to minimise the amount of contact that you will have with others when coming to the clinic.
Cardiac Catheter Lab procedures
Procedures such as angiograms, stents and pacemaker implantations cannot be performed privately at Frimley Park Hospital due to the requisition of the private ward but Dr Faircloth is able to perform some procedures at St Anthony's Hospital. Please feel free to contact him to discuss using one of the methods below.
Training and experience
Dr Faircloth qualified from St George's Hospital Medical School, gaining a number of prizes, before undertaking junior posts at St George's, the Royal Brompton and Hammersmith Hospitals. He started his registrar training at Frimley Park Hospital in 1999 before going on to St George's. He was awarded a personal BHF Fellowship to research the molecular basis of ischaemic heart failure at St Thomas' Hospital, leading to the award of a PhD. He then completed his training with a fellowship in interventional cardiology back at St George's Hospital. He was appointed as a consultant cardiologist at Frimley Park and St George's Hospitals in 2008.
Private practice
Dr Faircloth's main base is on the Surrey/Hampshire/Berkshire border and he is well placed to see patients from these areas in Clare Park Hospital and Frimley Park Hospital. In addition, he practices at St George's and St Anthony’s Hospitals where he is pleased to see patients from South London and Surrey.
He is often described by his patients as being a good and careful listener, which is crucial in gaining a swift and accurate diagnosis.
He is an experienced and highly capable interventional cardiologist and his externally reviewed performance figures confirm excellent success rates and an excellent safety record. He is trusted by his colleagues for his clinical and interventional skills.
Dr Faircloth runs his clinics as often as possible as 'one-stop' clinics' with tests being performed on the day to enable a swift and efficient diagnostic process. ECGs, echocardiograms, exercise tests and cardiac monitors can often be arranged at the time of the first visit. He runs two to three clinics per week and, with a very friendly and helpful PA (Deborah Squire), will always try to accommodate patients as soon as possible.
Dr Faircloth is recognised by all the major insurance companies and meets their fee requirements (he does not bill in excess of the companies' recommended fee levels). Approved companies include: BUPA, AXA-PPP, Aviva, WPA and Exeter.

What patients say about Matthew Faircloth
We experienced a very professional and quick echo cardiogram and consultation regarding a family member’s heart murmur and palpitations. From initial phone call through to the reassuring consultation the process was excellent. I have had previous contact with Matthew Faircloth with my own cardio issues, and his brilliant care and approach were the reason we requested his investigation and advice for the above condition.
