Ramsay first entered the UK private hospital market in September 2007 with the purchase of Capio UK and the healthcare group's managing director, Pat Grier, said that the latest acquisition would be "a valuable addition to Ramsay UK's portfolio".
The MD said that the Nottingham private hospital would strengthen Ramsay's offering in the UK.
"With its stable private medical insurance market and significant opportunities from the outsourcing of national health services (NHS) to the private sector, the UK market presents tremendous growth opportunities for Ramsay," he said.
"Ramsay will continue to investigate bolt-on opportunities which meet our investment criteria as they arise and to grow the UK business."
The BMI Nottingham Hospital is a 41-bed facility with two operating theatres and 13 consulting rooms offering a range of services such as orthopaedics, general surgery, urology and cosmetic surgery.
