A Nottinghamshire private hospital that recently unveiled a state-of-the-art critical care unit, has appointed Ken Hay as its new Executive Director.

BMI The Park opened the four-bed unit in December as part of a £9m development that will also see the introduction of new operating theatres at the in hospital in Burntstump Country Park, Arnold.

Further planned developments at the hospital include the building of a new Cancer Centre, in conjunction with Cancer Partners UK, which will provide a whole range of cancer treatments including chemotherapy and the latest generation of image guided radiotherapy (IGRT).

“I couldn’t have arrived at a more exciting time,” said Mr Hay, who has spent the last 10 years as Executive Director of two BMI Healthcare hospitals in Scotland.

“There are some great things happening at The Park and the future is very bright indeed. The new ITU unit makes us an important part of the Mid Trent Critical Care Network while the Cancer Centre and the move into radiotherapy will give us with ability to improve and extend the treatments we can provide.

“The Park already has an excellent reputation in the region. With our new facilities, combined with an impressive list of consultants, I am sure we will go from strength to strength in the coming years.”
