Nuffield Health has now completed the acquisition of the BMI Oxford Clinic. The management of all patients has transferred to the Nuffield Health Manor Hospital along with all staff. The merging of facilities means that all services that were previously available at The Oxford Clinic are now available at The Manor.
Theresa Starling, Director of The Nuffield Health Manor Hospital, said: “I am delighted at the smooth transition of services and staff to The Manor and we will continue to work with consultants, GPs and medical insurers to ensure that patients find the transfer to the new facility effortless.
The merging of the two facilities, not only secures local jobs, but means we can continue to provide first class orthopaedic care to patients in the region.”
Duncan Whitwell, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, said: “With the full range of orthopaedic services now available at The Manor we have a fantastic opportunity to further develop the excellent clinical services in Oxford and the surrounding area.”
Nuffield Health has been providing healthcare to the people of Oxford since 1962, when it acquired the Acland Hospital on Banbury Road. The Manor Hospital replaced the Acland in 2004 and is now firmly established at its new location in Headington. The Hospital treats over 8,000 patients a year; facilities include six major theatres, a seven-bedded intensive care unit, and both MRI and CT scanning on-site.
