A craniofacial surgeon is a surgeon who treats the congenital defects of the head, neck and face. Craniofacial surgery is a surgical subspecialty of plastic surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery. Main role of a craniofacial surgeon is to deal with the congenital and acquired defects of the skull, face and jaws. Common defects treated by a craniofacial surgeon are cleft lip and cleft palate, craniosynostosis, micrognathia, macrognathia, craniofacial defects, Crouzon’s syndrome, Apert’s syndrome and Treacher Collins syndrome etc.
