After going into complete and total water retention I was fortunately directed to Marc Laniado who quickly diagnosed that I actually had an enormous prostrate caused by BPH. As I come from a very sporting background it has been my misfortune over the years to meet many consultants for many various injuries and conditions of all kinds. But I found Marc Laniado to be absolutely head and shoulders above every other Consultant I've ever met before. Quite apart from being a brilliant surgeon who uses all of the latest techniques, he is by far the most caring, patient, understanding and accommodating doctor I have ever dealt with. On more than one occasion having been woken from his sleep at 2 o'clock in the morning he was with me within half an hour sorting out my discomfort. On top of which for the frequent attention that I needed, he was always there for me every second. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he was so kind, and skillful in helpful in every way. Also the after care he provides is equally as exceptional, and he always responds quickly to emails and telephone calls and texts. He is always contactable, always so efficient, understanding, and caring and helpful.

I was diagnosed with suspected prostate cancer in January 2014, aged 59. It was confirmed after having a series of scans and a biopsy in May. After a consultation with Marc Laniado, I decided to have my prostate removed, obviously I felt nervous, but there was no need, the operation was carried out in June robotically, everything went well, I felt no pain, the medical staff were very considerate and I returned to work six weeks later two years on I have no problems. Mr Laniado is a very skilful and reassuring surgeon to whom I and my family will be forever grateful.

From the time Marc told me I had prostrate cancer, in a very caring manner, to the day the op was done, my worries were but at bay, especially when Marc emailed me with the negative , prostrate and negative in the lymph nodes. , also told me he had nerve spared where feasible . The next sate was when the caffeta was removed , and no worries on holding and doing urine. A statement to his professional skil and dedication he has.
