A clinical oncologist is a specialist doctor who treats cancer. Three main types of clinical oncologists are medical oncologist, surgical oncologist and radiation oncologist. Main role of an oncologist is to diagnose and give a management plan for treating a patient with cancer. A person with cancer is usually treated by a multidisciplinary team of oncologists.
