About the London Clinic

History and Heritage

Constructed in the 1930s using the most advanced techniques and specifications of the day, innovation is built into The London Clinic’s foundations. With this, they draw on our long experience as a multi-speciality hospital to adapt to the changing needs of our patients.

Unrivalled Cancer Care

In 2010, The Queen and HRH Duke of Edinburgh opened The London Clinic’s cancer centre, the Duchess of Devonshire Wing. In that time it has become a leading global cancer care facility, winning the prestigious International Cancer Centre of the Year award in 2018 from the International Medical Travel Journal. In 2019, it received an overall score of 5 (excellent) in its first Quality Environment Mark by Macmillan Cancer Support, assessing the care and treatment of patients affected by cancer.

Largest Stem Cell centre

The London Clinic’s haematology facility – located in the cancer centre - is the largest stem cell collection centre in Europe. Working with charities including blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan, over 700 stem cell donations are collected every year and safely stored until needed by patients around the world.

Peerless Intensive Care

The London Clinic is renowned as having London’s leading private intensive care facility, able to support patients with complex and multiple conditions. Opened in 2016, the Intensive Care Unit has 13 individual patient rooms that have been designed by intensive care specialists, mixing the latest medical technologies alongside space and privacy for patients and their loved ones. Our Outreach Team of highly-skilled intensive care nurses monitor patients 24/7, and will only discharge someone once their health has fully stabilised. The service provides complete peace of mind.

Multi-disciplinary teams

Excellence in patient care involves a multidisciplinary approach, a strength at The London Clinic because of the wide variety of clinical services available to patients. Internationally-renowned consultants, specialist clinical nurses and a large support team of physiotherapists, dieticians and radiologists meet regularly to discuss every patient, ensuring they receive the best care and personalised treatment journey.

Many of the 700 consultants and clinical nurse specialists in their multidisciplinary teams are leaders in their fields. They are encouraged to innovate within their areas of practice and share their expertise with the wider healthcare community through our free training and education events.

With best-in-class service

The London Clinic’s services are designed around patients and form a vital part of diagnosis, treatment and recovery. They offer a bespoke, tailored in-house kitchen service which is centred on the nutritional needs of patients with the aim of creating exciting meals that people want to eat. Our award-winning chefs strive to deliver the best for patients, visiting them regularly and talking to them about their appetite and possible menu options.

They deliver the most comprehensive range of services of any private hospital in the UK. As well as over 180 patient rooms, and 11 operating theatres, including endoscopy and hybrid surgical suites, they offer the reassurance of a level 3, 13-bed intensive care unit (ICU), with 24-hour, consultant-led patient support.

Advancing healthcare

With the growing demand for high-quality healthcare around the world, it is vital that hospitals play their part in supporting advancement. The London Clinic achieves this by supporting the trials of potentially life-saving new treatments, such as intraoperative radiotherapy treatment (IORT), which gives patients a high dose of radiotherapy at the time of surgery to remove a tumour or growth. We also reinvest our income into clinical training, enabling nurses to complete specialist degrees, and Fellows to become the next high-achieving Consultants.

With greater control over how their profits are distributed, The London Clinic are able to invest in delivering on its objective of advancing healthcare via our three principles. This includes Ever Better Patient Care, Innovation and Research, and Training and Education.

They are often the first to introduce new technologies and treatments. Through The London Clinic Research Centre, they join clinical trials that are shaping the future of treatments and care pathways.

High standards of patient safety and care

The London Clinic is regulated and accredited by the appropriate industry bodies and are the recipient of several awards for the outstanding care they provide. Patients are our most important critics, and their feedback keeps us responsive and adaptive to their needs.

Once your consultant confirms the best treatment for you, we’ll provide you with a treatment plan. This sets out all the steps of your treatment and how much each procedure costs. Form any of our treatments, we offer all-inclusive packages that mean you’ll only ever pay one price that won’t change. So, if you require extra tests or procedures that weren’t part of your original treatment plan, you won’t have to pay any additional fees, the package takes care of it.

Finance Options - Spread the cost

We have teamed up with Chrysalis Finance to offer you funding options that allow you to spread the cost of your treatment. If you choose to pay for your treatment at The London Clinic over 12 months, you can make use of a great 0% interest option and pay nothing extra. Or you can choose to pay over two to five years and pay interest at an annual percentage rate of 9.9%.
